My saffron can boast of being a "Slow Food®" product (as can be seen on this link) and it is branded with the "Presidio Slow Food®" brand. For this reason, it respects a very rigorous specification that, in addition to ensuring the consumer about its origin (San Gavino Monreale - Sardinia), provides production methods. All of this is controlled by the technicians of the Slow Food association. The "Zafferano di San Gavino Monreale" Presidia is represented by "Santu 'Engiu su Tzaffaranu" local no profit association that was born in 2002 and join many saffron producers.

After long passages began in 2006, we received, in early 2009, official recognition for the "Zafferano di Sardegna" P.D.O. seal of quality. The P.D.O. (protected designation of origin) brand is the most important U.E. brand that certifies the quality and origin of a food. Also the 'Zafferano di Sardegna' P.D.O. must respond to specific and strict rules of production. Not later than this year we hope that we'll give to our saffron this brand. It will be a further assurance of its source and its highest quality.
